If a game or the Nexon Launcher is not starting or running properly, the application might not have the permissions necessary for it to work as expected. Enabling the option to run the application as an administrator may help.
This article describes how to run an app as an administrator temporarily, which elevates its permissions until you close it. It also describes how to set an app to permanently run as an administrator.
Important: To run an application as an administrator, you must have full administrator rights. |
To see the steps for running an app as an administrator, watch our video “How To Run Games As An Administrator” on YouTube (see below).

Running apps once as an administrator
To run an app once as an administrator:
- Navigate to the install folder of the app that you want to run.
The default paths are:- C:\Program Files (x86)\Nexon\Nexon Launcher
- C:\Nexon\Library\<game title>\appdata
For example, C:\Nexon\Library\maplestory\appdata
- Right-click the executable file, such as maplestory.exe or nexon_launcher.exe, and then click Run as administrator.
- Click Yes.
The game or Nexon Launcher now opens running elevated permissions until you close it.
To run the app again as an administrator, you must perform the above steps. Alternately, you can set the app to permanently run as an administrator (see below).
